It's quite the pickle we're in. 4chan has been getting worse and in response countless altchans have been created including yours but we just can't seem to find the "Goldilocks zone" kind of altchan. It's been this constant back-and-forth tug of war. Like when the site got hacked in 2025 we mostly took refuge in the soyjak altchan that showed up but we quickly came back to 4chan.
I kinda don't mind wordfilters as even 4chan itself has them but I'm gonna be honest the UI here needs improvement. That might be one of the things pushing people away.

@ballisticromantic I just noticed you decided to make an account here. I'm assuming you you've at least considered making this place your home. Do you have any suggestions on how to get more anons to get them to come here so it won't be just me, you, and void-san? I've gotten the boot shoved up my ass for 7 days on 4chan for my bravery so I can't do much over there and maybe spamming links isn't the right way to get people to move over anyway.

Like idk man, the sidebar thing is compact but why not leave it at the top of the website? You could also include board shortcuts there too like /tech/ /meta/ and so on and so on.
Seconding word filters that are creative like "Melon marauders" or something savvy for the obvious ideas, and a basic bottem right theme filter like chans would be great too, it's not like people couldn't get used to filters, you'd just have to get creative with em.
or hell, figure out if offshore hosting in bumfuck nowhere where the rules are "lol blow me" is a possibility

considering the recent stats about bot traffic, it's safe to assume you are either dealing with an indian or a bot whenever you're reading or posting anywhere on the internet

That is the real question, how do you allow anonymous posting while on the internet without having it be abused by bots or third worlders who get paid to act like such? hell if you have sign ups we know that ai has been able to get passed capchas and other checks etc for a while (not sure about local models yet, but i'd be interested to know) so that's not exactly impossible unless their training just refuses to do so. we really do live in an online reality where slowly day day by the percentage on modern content being an actual human or made by human hands is getting lower and lower, even if only by 0.001% a day. maybe the only refuges left are niche autistic interests.

I work for a company that proliferates mass comments on the big boy social media platforms
our customers pay us to achieve auto replying and auto liking peoples comments on ig, yt, etc.
this is a very lucrative business for x, ig, etc because they charge a ton for api access. Not everyone can afford it. And even when they can afford api access, there is a strict application process companies need to succeed with to gain access
so not all activity is bot net in nature.
of course there are ways to circumvent this with Indian mobile spammer farms, real poop eaters solving captchas and typing/liking comments
as for 4chuds, my conspiracy is they have artificial posts pre-written posts ready to push content off /g/. Most posts are a few words. Easy enough to mass produce and fire at will

That's the billion dollars question. I think after you reach a certain scale, there isn't much you can do about it. Even giants like tiktok and twitter have to deal with them
Maybe making the community invite only and limiting the number of invites each user can send?
By the way, I disabled captcha here and so far there hasn't been any spam, maybe it's because the website is so small that it stays under the radar

KF has that kind of with requiring users to send out emails for an invite (this is flawed and ai can do this trivially) but they still get hammered with CP and ddos by angry "women" because they allow talking about them freely and i do not expect that site to last sadly because of the enormous costs that puts on them which really sucks, but that's what happens in a world where speaking freely is prosecuted, hell some of the users have literally gotten their info handed over because they were idiots and used their bare ip (never ever ever ever ever browse the internet without a vpn) and even then it's not anonymous they still have user names which you could track across posts to gather info on them and pinpoint who they are with enough points to some degree of accuracy.

It's actually way more complicated than that if you want good compression efficiency, I have a thread about it if you're interested. Otherwise exporting to %01d.png through ffmpeg and importing that to GIMP and then exporting to animated Webp seems like the easiest way to work with it albeit at low compression efficiency. Would be nice if someone made a single GUI program for doing all of this though.
