I decided to make this thread so we can have a discussion about how Umi Galaxy is supported.
The idea behind the Supporter Tier is that, if the website grows, at some point we'll need to make some money to cover the server costs. And if it gets really huge, there will be even more costs beyond just the servers.
Right now, the servers are cheap and more than enough for the current traffic, so I'm taking this opportunity to give the Supporter Tier for free to people who register an account.
What do you think the Supporter Tier should have?
Right now, the Supporter Tier provides boosts for Clan and Alliance threads. Since everyone can create a Clan or Alliance, there needs to be something to prevent usage from getting out of control. We can't have an infinite number of threads with millions of media files without eventually paying for all that storage.
At the moment, Clan and Alliance threads have very little usage, so I was thinking about extending the Supporter Tier perks to regular threads on the normal imageboard as well.
What do you think? What kind of perks would you like to see in the Supporter Tier?

You have improved it recently tho, otherwise I wouldn't have risked a 3 day ban on 4chan to spread the word. Reddit and twitter advertisements on 4chan are still up, I wonder if the jannies are on strike right now. There's like 20 fucking AI generals shitting up the board too, half of them just annoying but the other obvious spam.

Another altchan in the sea of altchans except void-san made a containment board for AI spam. The site used to run like dogshit but not anymore so I figured it was time to tell others about it.
My hope is that people that genuinely want to discuss tech here find this little bubble and we can all have a good time. At least it's more constructive than complaining on 4chan.

I think that would be better at least for the OP public post. Not sure if having a public thread filled with dozens of 20MB files is such a good idea. It could slow down the site with too many lurkers.
However the OP post getting more leeway in filesize would help boost thread quality, even with AV1 a larger filesize limit is always better anyways.

host your own and the server costs never go up.
host your own and there are no other costs aside from a proxy.
