Why aren't people having kids anymore? Is there any way birth rates can be raised or is this the new normal?
Imo people are having fewer kids because they're marrying and even dating less often. A lot of people talk about money, but there's the least of the problems.
50 years ago most high school kids dated, nowadays only a minority do. Nowadays we have a lot more virgins and people who never dated.
Standards are sky high and people have no patience for human interaction anymore, guys would rather watch porn over pursing sex. Simping is rampant, be it the guy leaving likes on instagram, the guy on tinder swiping on a million women without getting a match, or the guy on twitch sending money to his dream gamer girl.
Girls end up in soft harems where 10% of guys fuck most women, they are told they need to marry a multi-millionaire while being broke, they are told their normal boyfriends aren't good enough.

My controversial view: I do not believe that men and women are equal and giving them equality has created more problems than solutions, like falling birth rates.

I think the real reason is because having kids is portrayed as a nightmare (eg, dumb dad, overworked hag mom media trope), plus we live in a more hedonistic time, the ideal is moneymaxxing, traveling, etc. Not doing that for another person. The biological desire hasnt gone away though, i think its channeled into pets, think dog birthdays, dogs in strollers, dog "mom".

It's mostly a nightmare because we treated women as equals when teality says "nah, not really lol". We focus so much on the, maybe 1% of elite women, and apply it to all women. This will forever IMHO, be one of the greatest mistakes humanity has ever commited.
Like it's arguably worse than slavery.

I also forgot to mention women literally cannot bear the thought of their bodies becoming even the slightest bit modified. Cause being sExY is the most important thing in life for the modern woman, even though any validation is always short-lived and they arent truly fulfilked on the inside.
